Operation Write Home

Xyron is partnering with We R Memory Keepers (WRMK) to promote the wonderful organization Operation Write Home (OWH). This wonderful organization provides handmade cards created by crafters all over the world for our military troops to use to write to their loved ones back home. Please check out WRMK at http://www.weronthenet.com/Operation_Write_Home to learn more about their part in supporting OWH. I have truly fallen in love with everything Operation Write Home stands for and does. I love that I can use my crafty skills to help support those hard working men and women who are fighting for my freedom. Please consider supporting this great cause with your crafting skills too. You can learn more by visiting the OWH website at http://operationwritehome.org/ Be sure to read the guidelines as they have a few simply rules to follow. While on the website be sure to request your FREE Operation Write Home unmounted rubber stamp as this MUST be on the back of all your cards.

Here is my first Hero card creation using my Xyron Mega Runner, 150 and 500 as well as beautiful WRMK papers!

All Heart

I LOVE hearts and the love they represent. So, I made this mini album, matching card and envelope and storage box for my hubby for Valentine's Day and to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary. I wanted to journal inside to tell him how special he is to me as we celebrate our anniversary on February 12th. I tried to keep it as manly as possible with a Valentine's theme. I used the Love Letters line by My Little Yellow Bicycle. I really love how it turned out. Since this is one of my favorite projects I have decided to submit this to Jinger Adams' Design Team call!!!! Wish me luck!

Altered Clipboard

I would have made LOTS of clipboards for others, but realized I had yet to make one for myself which I use at work on a daily as a Speech Language Pathologist. So, I finally made one for ME!!! It contains all my favs zebra print, glitter, bling, foil paper, hearts and lips to represent speech therapy!!! I used my Xyron machines (900, 250 & 150) and adhesives to hold it all together. They really do make altering clipboards a breeze!!!

My Scraproom!!!

Here is my beloved scraproom!!! My hubby built all the shelving, table and shelf for my machines. He also installed my pegboard and slat wall. My daughter Marley left me some of her art work on my easels (also built by my hubby). She is so sweet!

Christmas Mini

I created this Christmas mini album fir my Secret Santa. I hope she likes it! I used the Kaisercraft Beyond The Page Christmas Journal Album, Basic Grey Paper, Buttons and Stickers, EK Success Stocking Embellishment, Cardstock, Ranger Distress Ink Walnut, Twine From Twinery, Bling and American Crafts Ribbon. I ran all paper through my Xyron machines to get the edge to edge adhesive needed. Happy Christmas Scrappin To All!!!

Thrifty Easels

As most of you know I have rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. When scrapping for long periods of time constantly looking down on my desk while working on layouts was killing my neck, shoulders and back. I decided I wanted some type of easel system and looked at different ones, but they were all on the expensive side. I was telling my hubby about wanting an easel system and his handy self made me one. I must say I LOVE my thrifty easels! He created them with a white shelf, shelf brackets, sheet metal and magnets all purchased at Lowe's. He first cut the shelf in half. Each easel is roughly 15 1/2 x 14. He then attached the brackets to the back to make them stand upright or slightly elevated. I LOVE that it can be positioned two different ways! He then countersunk magnets on the face of the easels to hold the metal sheet in place. The metal sheets measure about 13 1/2 by 12. This gives me extra room on the sides to store my magnets not in use. Lastly, he bent the upper right corner of the metal sheets upward for easy removal from the easel. I must say that I now wonder how I ever scrapped without my easels!!! I am certainly putting them to good use and my RA and fibromyalgia are thanking me for it! I've added photos below. Please overlook my messy desk! My dear hubby was sweet enough to leave me a little note on one of the easels. I <3 him!!!
